The Sky Is Falling!

THE SKY IS FALLING... THE SKY IS FALLING!

 

It seems everywhere I turn this week there are "Chicken Littles" who are predicting the end of the world.  The word "FEAR" seems to be the adjective of choice to describe any number of looming catastrophes that our world is facing.  Honestly with the stock market crashing, politicians playing the blame game, banks and huge corporations failing, and the lack of hope that anyone has real answers to the downward spiral we are experiencing, it is REALLY hard to be positive... even for an optimist like me.  

 

In times like these, however, our faith has the possibility to shine if we will exercise it.  God's Word speaks loudly in the darkness, and we must rely on His Promises... especially now!  It is not the first time believers have faced uncertain circumstances, and it won't be the last.  We (American Christians) have just not been tested to the degree we are being tested today.  Some would say we have been spoiled; although I would not go that far.  

 

Let me leave you with one nugget of Truth:   "There is no fear in love.  But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment.  The one who fears is not made perfect in love."       1 John 4:18
